I help people

sunday nights.

love

Most people have a good idea of changes they would like to make to their work-life but knowing what to do is not enough.

My approach is to share hard-won lessons of success that you can easily do yourself, it’s about lasting change that supports your growth.

my journey...

I understand your frustration and anxiety.

Do you get a pit in your stomach on Sunday around 4 pm as you think about the week ahead? Maybe not a full-blown breathing-in-a-bag panic, but a feeling of overwhelm and fear that grows as daylight fades into dusk?

Sunday used to be my least favorite day of the week. I would wake up in terror thinking about my to-do list, the lack of white space on my calendar, the feeling that the system was beating me, whatever the system is, not being appreciated for my contribution, and the fear of making mistakes or letting someone down. I had too much on my plate and prioritized others’ needs over mine, and I found it challenging to do things that really mattered to me. I felt like things were beyond my control and disempowered in the face of my circumstances.

If you spend your Sunday filled with dread, you are in good company. Most people, some 80%, experience what they call the “Sunday Scaries.” The Sunday Scaries are the anxiety that sets in on Sunday nights with the impending return to the office, school, or work. You might even LOVE your job but still experience feelings of dread and anxiety at the thought of walking in the office door.

You can interrupt the conversations in your head.

It starts by realizing no one is coming to save you. At first, that might be scary, but by accepting this, you also see the power you have to design your work and your life exactly as you want it.

Numerous studies have shown the most productive employees are well-rounded professionals with full and well-balanced lives -- both in and out of the workplace. Often what happens without us realizing, is one area of life or another takes over, causing imbalance leaving others calling to be nourished.

We need to do work life differently.

I believe self-expression at work is an art form that gives you power. I work with high-achievers who want to be the best in their industry, make money, and stay relevant. This is where figuring out your top strengths and exploring self-sabotage comes in.

Hard-won stories of success.

I use a data-driven approach that acts as a call to action to change how you think about your talent, and how to ask for what you want and get it.

I instinctively consider the bigger picture and how the systemic pieces—people, process, technology, and regulations help or hinder success.

Lasting change rather than an event.

Through my work as a coach, business advisor, and speaker, I’ve spent a lot of time learning how to create work that fulfills people and prepares talent for today and the future.

Today, I get up in the morning knowing I can help people create work-life integration and leaders create cultures where people thrive not just survive. This level of talent development is sacred. And when employees enjoy their work, companies hit their targets, and everyone Loves Sunday Nights.

We organize our lives to love or to work. Even the wealthiest people in the world spend more time at work than with the people they love. Being miserable and unappreciated affects your whole life—who you are and your well-being. Helping people find the right role to be happy and productive at the right time lights my fire.

If I can make just one person happy by helping them do more work they love, then I’ve done my job.

I’ve done the work, and I’m the most patient person you’ll ever meet.

And I’ve been doing it for more than 25 years. I’ve had roles in talent management, leadership, learning, and organizational development, including VP Talent Management for a Fortune 500 global organization.

When I’m not thinking about ways to help people Love Sunday Nights, you’ll find me in my garden, enjoying live music, or on a long, meandering road trip with my husband, teenage daughter, and two water dogs Walter and Maude named after Big Lebowski characters.
